This compelled Connor to learn more about recovery and nutrition. Achieving his goal came with a burnt out and aching body. In 2018, after four prior competitions, he finally qualified for and competed in the USAPL national powerlifting competition in Spokane, Washington. After learning about powerlifting competitions at the ISU Weight Club, he made it his goal to qualify for a national level competition. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her husband and friends, travelling to new places, reading, and trying out new recipes.įun fact: Stephanie didn't start running consistently until she ran in her first organized 5K race at age 29.Ĭonnor, a Prior Lake native, started his fitness journey during his first year of college at Iowa State University. She loves stretching both to help wake her up in the morning as well as to help relax at night, and she always tries to make time to foam roll after a workout. Stephanie grew up playing volleyball and basketball and now stays active by running (anything from 5Ks to marathons), cross-training with either HIIT workouts or strength training, walking or hiking on local trails, and will throw in an occasional bike ride. She realized there was so much more to learn and went on to receive her master's in exercise science from Concordia University - St. Paul with a degree in kinesiology and a minor in psychology. She graduated from the University of Northwestern - St. She has always gravitated towards living a healthy lifestyle and loves helping others discover that even small changes can add up and lead to big results. Stephanie has been passionate about health and fitness for as long as she can remember. She loves to mountain bike, travel, read, and hike in the mountains whenever the opportunity presents itself.įun fact: Shelley has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do! When she is not working, Shelley enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs. Shelley has worked with clients ranging in age from 11 to 99 and has a sincere passion for helping her clients achieve optimal, pain-free movement, whether they are recovering from an injury, training for competition, or just want to feel better. Shelley also works as a Clinical Performance Coach with physical therapy patients and enjoys bringing that expertise to her Stretchly clients she frequently incorporates corrective exercise into her stretch sessions when beneficial for the client. She credits corrective exercise as playing a tremendous role in her recovery, which was the main reason she decided to become a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist. Shelley has been a life-long fitness enthusiast but developed an interest in corrective exercise after suffering injuries and undergoing 3 surgeries.
